The MCU College of Optometry (COO), in partnership with the External Affairs Office (EAO), successfully conducted COO Partner’s Day on May 13, 2026, bringing together its valued internship, academic, and industry partners for an afternoon of recognition and engagement.
The event was organized to strengthen collaboration and express appreciation to the institutions that play a vital role in the experiential training and professional development of MCU optometry students. Through a formal yet intimate gathering, partners were recognized for their continued support in providing learning opportunities that bridge academic instruction with real-world practice.
The program featured a welcome ceremony, acknowledgment of partner institutions, networking sessions, and a reception designed to encourage meaningful interaction and continued partnership building.
Among the internship partners recognized were George Optical, Vision Science Institute, Resources for the Blind, Inc., House of Branded Lifestyle, Inc., Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center, G&B Vision Care, and Filemon D. Tanchoco, Sr. Medical Foundation, Inc.
The event also recognized the valuable contributions of the Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrists, Inc. (IPAO) as the College’s academic partner, as well as industry partners including Essilor Philippines, Hollywood Optical Supply, Lyn Optical, Sai International, Seen Zone Optical Clinic, and Maria Theresa Commercial, Inc.
COO Partner’s Day highlighted the importance of strong collaboration between academia, healthcare institutions, professional organizations, and industry stakeholders in developing competent and compassionate eye care professionals.
Through these partnerships, the MCU College of Optometry continues to provide students with meaningful experiential learning opportunities, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the evolving demands of the optometry profession and contribute to quality eye care services in the community.
