Manila Central University (MCU) formally established a scholarship partnership with the Ministry of Health – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOH BARMM) during a signing ceremony held on June 25, 2026, at the President’s Conference Room.
The partnership aims to provide aspiring healthcare students with greater access to quality education through scholarship opportunities while strengthening collaboration between the two institutions in developing future healthcare professionals.
The initiative also marks a significant milestone for the scholarship program with the inclusion of its first scholar from the National Capital Region (NCR), while continuing its commitment to supporting beneficiaries from the Visayas. The expansion reflects the shared goal of making quality healthcare education more accessible to deserving students from different regions of the country.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Abdulhalik M. Kasim, Director General of MOH BARMM; Nur-Hanisa B. Ugokan, Scholarship Coordinator; and Jamiela Rose S. Saban, Assistant Scholarship Coordinator. Representatives from the Office of MP Said Salendab, including Abdulnasser M. Ales, Chief of Staff, and Zul-Ameen A. Gani, also attended the event.
Representing MCU were officials from the Office of the President, the External Affairs Department, the College of Medical Technology, and the Admissions and Financial Aid Department.
Through this partnership, MCU continues to strengthen its commitment to providing inclusive educational opportunities and developing competent healthcare professionals who will serve communities across the Philippines.
