Manila Central University hosted L.I.F.E. Talk, launched by Small Laude on December 4, 2024, bringing together experts to discuss building a disaster-ready society in the face of climate change. The event, themed Learning, Innovation, Future-Orientation, and Engagement (LIFE), featured insightful discussions led by Mr. Renzo Guinto, MD, DrPH, Associate Professor of Global and Planetary Health at SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute in Singapore; Mr. Oliver B. Sta. Ana, PhD, Head of Academic Services at Maynilad Water Academy; and Mr. Eric John D. Capito, RN, MAN, MPA-HEDM, Team Lead of the Philippine Emergency Medical Assistance Team.
Their talks focused on resilience, sustainability, and proactive disaster preparedness, highlighting strategies for mitigating climate risks, strengthening healthcare responses, and enhancing water security amid environmental challenges. LIFE Talk reflects MCU’s commitment to fostering meaningful conversations on global issues, equipping students and stakeholders with the knowledge and skills to contribute to a more sustainable and disaster-ready society.
