Manila Central University (MCU), in collaboration with GMA Network, successfully held the Teach Well, Live Well: Empowering Educators to Champion Mental Health program on October 4, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The initiative aimed to promote mental health awareness and well-being among educators, focusing on equipping faculty members from the Basic Education Department and the School of Business and Management with the skills and understanding necessary to foster supportive, compassionate learning environments.
The session highlighted practical strategies for maintaining emotional balance, recognizing signs of stress, and integrating mental wellness practices into teaching. Faculty participants engaged in reflective discussions that underscored the importance of educator well-being as a foundation for effective student learning.
Adding an experiential dimension to the program, participants were treated to a guided tour of GMA Network’s studios, where they gained valuable insights into the operations of one of the Philippines’ leading media institutions. The visit offered an inspiring look at how media professionals navigate creativity, pressure, and public communication—paralleling the importance of mindfulness and resilience in teaching.
This activity reflects MCU’s continued commitment to supporting educators’ holistic growth and well-being, in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening ties with industry partners and promoting meaningful collaborations that enhance education and community development.
