Manila Central University (MCU), through the College of Arts and Sciences, officially participated in the 2025 General Membership Meeting of the Game Development Association of the Philippines (GDAP) held at Huawei Technologies Inc. in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
MCU was represented by Engr. Niña Ciela C. Florentino, Program Chair of the Entertainment and Multimedia Computing (EMC) Program. During the induction of new members, MCU was formally welcomed as part of GDAP—an organization composed of companies, studios, and academic institutions working within the Philippine game development ecosystem.
The event featured discussions led by GDAP Chairman Mr. Alvin Juban, President Mr. James Ronald Lo, and a keynote message from Mr. Paolo Federico Ramos, Deputy Executive Director of the Department of Trade and Industry–Philippine Creative Industries Development Council (DTI-PCIDC). The program highlighted a recap of GDAP’s initiatives for 2025, the growing need for stronger academe representation in the industry, and updates on government efforts to strengthen skills development in game design and game technology.
Sponsored by FWD Life Philippines and Huawei, the meeting also showcased ongoing projects and collaborations aimed at advancing the country’s creative and digital industries.
MCU’s participation and formal induction into GDAP broaden its linkages with industry professionals and academic experts in game development. This milestone supports the University’s commitment to providing EMC students with relevant exposure, training pathways, and opportunities for shared learning with the country’s leading developers and creative institutions.
