From August 4–6, 2025, Manila Central University’s College of Nursing welcomed a delegation of nursing students from STIKes Budi Luhur Cimahi Institute of Nursing, Indonesia, for a three-day International Wound Care Training and Community Immersion.
The program was designed to enhance clinical expertise in wound care while promoting cross-cultural understanding and collaborative learning. Guided by MCU’s experienced nursing faculty, participants attended a series of lectures, engaged in practical skills training, and took part in community immersion activities.
Training sessions covered advanced wound care techniques, patient-centered approaches, and the integration of cultural sensitivity into healthcare practice. The community immersion component provided students with firsthand experience in delivering care and health education, emphasizing the importance of empathy, respect, and responsiveness to diverse patient needs.
Beyond technical skills, the event fostered meaningful connections between Filipino and Indonesian nursing students, strengthening international academic ties and encouraging mutual growth in the field of healthcare.
This initiative supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4: Quality Education, 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and 17: Partnerships for the Goals, underscoring MCU’s commitment to producing globally competent and socially responsible healthcare professionals.
