Manila Central University – College of Dentistry marked its 97th Founding Anniversary from March 17 to 19, 2026, with a series of academic, institutional, and community-centered activities held at the Helix Auditorium and LRC Activity Center.
Carrying the theme “Transcend: Redefining Dental Education and Practice in the Digital Era,” the three-day celebration highlighted the College’s commitment to innovation, clinical excellence, and continuous professional development.
Day 1: Clinical and Case Presentations
The celebration opened on March 17 with Clinical and Case Presentations led by Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) students. The sessions showcased student competencies in diagnosis, treatment planning, and evidence-based clinical practice.
Day 2: Institutional Milestones and Recognition
Activities on March 18 began with a Holy Mass, followed by the blessing of the new clinics at the PGT and the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the LRC Activity Center.
The Opening Ceremonies gathered distinguished guests, including representatives from the Professional Regulation Commission Board of Dentistry, University President Dr. Tanchoco, and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Flores.
A highlight of the morning program was the Gabay Patnubay Awards, recognizing individuals who have demonstrated excellence and contribution to the field of dentistry and the academic community.
In the afternoon, Recognition Ceremonies honored the achievements of students and faculty, reinforcing the College’s culture of excellence.
Day 3: Scientific Seminar and Research Activities
On March 19, the College hosted a Scientific Seminar in partnership with the Association of Philippine Orthodontists. The seminar featured discussions on orthodontics, aesthetic dentistry, and digital dentistry.
The event brought together respected professionals in the field, including local speakers Dr. Chris Guzman, Dr. Dennis Lim, Dr. Federico Nadela, Jr., and Dr. Kim Fajardo, along with international speaker Dr. Yeoh Chiew Kit.
The afternoon sessions featured a Research Poster Competition and Table Clinics, providing platforms for students to present their research and clinical innovations.
The celebration concluded with a Testimonial Dinner honoring recent board passers and alumni, recognizing their achievements and continued contribution to the profession.
