Manila Central University proudly celebrates the appointment of Dr. Neil Vincent C. Sandoval, an alumnus of the Institute of Education, Batch 2016 (Master of Arts in Education, Major in Curriculum and Instruction), as Deputy Executive Director III of the Teacher Education Council (TEC).
Dr. Sandoval’s appointment was officially announced by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr., following the endorsement of DepEd Secretary and TEC Chairperson Sonny Angara. This move is aligned with the President’s principles of Bagong Pilipinas and grounded in Republic Act No. 11713, also known as the Excellence in Teacher Education Act.
In his reflection, Dr. Sandoval shares:
“Without the MCU, I cannot serve our fellow Filipinos, most especially in the education sector. Without your professional help and technical assistance, I will not be able to finish my thesis and dissertation.”
Known for his dedication and service in the education sector, Dr. Sandoval previously held key leadership roles, including OIC-Director IV at the Bureau of Curriculum Development (DepEd Central Office) and Chief Education Supervisor at DepEd Makati. His extensive experience in managing teams, overseeing budgets, and leading projects relevant to basic education curriculum and standards has prepared him for this national post.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education, Major in Curriculum Design, Development, and Supervision—graduating Magna Cum Laude.
As Deputy Executive Director III, Dr. Sandoval will assist in leading the TEC Secretariat, coordinating and overseeing regional operations, and supporting national strategies in enhancing teacher education.
This milestone is a testament not only to Dr. Sandoval’s hard work and passion, but also to MCU’s legacy in producing leaders committed to uplifting Philippine education.
Congratulations, Dr. Neil Vincent C. Sandoval!
