Students from the BS Computer Science (CS) and BS Entertainment and Multimedia Computing (EMC) programs of Manila Central University participated in an educational studio tour at the GMA Network Center along Timog Avenue, Quezon City on December 16, 2025.
The activity was led by Engr. Niña Ciela C. Florentino, Program Chair for CS and EMC, and aimed to provide students with real-world exposure to the broadcast and media production industry.
The visit began with an informative talk by Senior Manager for Administration Jose Vernon A. Jacela, who shared insights into post-production workflows behind major GMA programs such as Voltes V and Pulang Araw. Students gained a deeper appreciation of the technical and creative processes involved in large-scale television production.
As part of the tour, students observed live radio broadcasts by Barangay LS DJ Papa Obet Ablao and Super Radyo DZBB anchor Kaye Morales, offering them a behind-the-scenes look at radio programming and on-air operations.
The group also visited several television studios, including the news sets of 24 Oras and Saksi, as well as large entertainment studios housing programs such as TiktoClock and Bubble Gang. These tours allowed students to witness firsthand how technology, performance, and production come together in broadcast media.
The studio tour provided a meaningful learning experience that encouraged students to hone their skills and envision their future roles in broadcasting, multimedia production, and digital content creation—reinforcing MCU’s commitment to industry-relevant education and experiential learning.
