MCU-College of Nursing and PRC Caloocan City Chapter Empower Communities Through Successful Collaborative Service

The MCU-College of Nursing (CON) and the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Caloocan City Chapter came together for a successful community service drive last January 31, 2023. The event was made possible through the academic partnership between MCU-CON and PRC Caloocan City Chapter, and was initiated by Prof. Maria Elena C. Diasen, MCU-CON Associate Dean for Social Learning and Participation, and facilitated by Ms. Nieves Itliong, Head of PRC Caloocan Welfare and Health Services.

The event aimed to provide support to the public by offering free medical check-ups, consultations, and medicines. Dean Melvin Miranda and Prof. Vilma M. Bonifacio also participated in the event along with Prof. Marjorie V. Aguinaldo, who supervised the event with the NSN student volunteers. The team worked tirelessly to ensure that all attendees received the care they needed and deserved.

The community service drive was a huge success, and the CON team received an overwhelming amount of gratitude from the attendees. Through their hard work and dedication, the MCU-CON and PRC Caloocan City Chapter were able to make a positive impact on the community and provide much-needed support to those in need. Their efforts serve as an inspiration to everyone and demonstrate the power of collaboration in achieving great things for the betterment of society.
