The library is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the LRC Building and is designed to facilitate a conducive learning environment. The library boasts a spacious area and a centralized cooling system to enhance your learning experience. You will find a collection of catalogues and updated books, specifically curated for each college.
In addition, the library offers foreign and local periodicals with updated subscriptions, providing you with the latest information in your field of study. Furthermore, the library provides a range of instructional and informative materials that cover various interests, catering to the diverse needs of students. Come and take advantage of the wealth of knowledge available to you at the library.
Filipiniana Section
This section contains older editions and duplicate copies of Filipiniana books. Filipiniana collection is an integral part of the country's national identity. It represents the country's unique culture and heritage and provides a link to the past. We are pleased to offer our library users the opportunity to borrow up to three (3) books at a time for a period of three (3) days for home use and this can be renewed if there is no demand for other borrowing. Please note that a nominal fine of five (5) pesos (Php5.00) will be charged if these resources are not returned on time.
Periodicals Section
In this section, you'll find bound and single issues of professional journals, as well as magazines covering a wide range of topics - some of which you might enjoy reading! You'll also find helpful resources for research, as well as instructional CDs and DVDs. Everything here is up-to-date and ready for you to explore.
Reserve Section
Frequently utilized books are placed in this section. Reserve book material provides equitable access to high-demand and time-sensitive materials, promotes academic success, and ensures that library resources are distributed fairly. However, it is important to note that access to Reserve materials is restricted to university students, faculty, and staff, and can only be obtained by presenting a valid ID. Furthermore, please be aware that the use of these materials is strictly limited to library use only.
Circulation Section
This section of the library houses books written by foreign authors. By offering a diverse range of books, libraries aim to promote a passion for learning and encourage users to continuously expand their knowledge and explore new ideas. To facilitate this, library users are permitted to borrow up to three books at a time for a period of three days, allowing them to read or use the materials at their own pace. It's important to note that returning borrowed resources on time is crucial to ensure fair access for all users. A fine of 5.00 Pesos will be charged for any overdue materials.
Reference Section
This section of the library contains a variety of general reference materials, including dictionaries, encyclopedias, yearbooks, and other similar resources. These materials are designated for in-library use only, and photocopying is permitted for a limited time period of fifteen to twenty minutes. Additionally, undergraduate theses are also located in this section, although it is important to note that reproduction of these materials is strictly prohibited to ensure their preservation and availability for future use.
Medical Library
Medical Library Section, exclusively dedicated to the needs medicine students. Our collection is curated to support students’ academic journey with a rich assortment of resources. From textbooks and reference materials to the latest research and classic medical literature, this section provides the tools needed to excel in studies. Borrow up to three books at a time for a one week period, enabling you to study at your own pace.
Grade School Library
Grade School Library Section is where young minds embark on exciting literary adventures. Our collection is thoughtfully curated to foster a love for reading and learning in our youngest library users. With a diverse selection of age-appropriate books, colorful picture books, engaging educational materials, and a cozy reading corner, this section is designed to spark imagination and curiosity. Grade school students can borrow up to three books at a time for a week, allowing them ample time to explore new worlds and stories. Timely returns are encouraged to ensure everyone has the chance to enjoy our resources fully.
High School Library
High School Library Section, where knowledge meets ambition. This section is tailored to support the academic pursuits of our high school students. Dive into a wide range of textbooks, reference materials, fiction, and non-fiction books that cater to diverse interests and subjects. High school students can borrow up to three books at a time for a two-week period, providing ample time for research and leisure reading. We kindly remind you to return borrowed materials promptly, ensuring equitable access for all.
Graduate School Library
This section is specifically designed to meet the needs of graduate students, alumni and researchers. Rules and Regulations
Guidelines pertaining to the use of the Library
- The Library is a place for study and research. Silence shall be observed at all times.
- Mobile phones must be put on SILENT MODE when inside the Library.
- Loud discussions, eating, playing cards, or engaging in other loud noises activities disruptive of Library operations are strictly prohibited.
- Students shall be subjected to disciplinary action for any of the following acts:
- The Library is a place for study and research. Silence shall be observed at all times.

- Students shall be subjected to disciplinary action for any of the following acts:
- Any person who lends his/her Identification Card shall have his/her Library privileges suspended for not more than one semester. Similarly, any user who uses an Identification Card not his/her own will be subjected to the same penalties.
- Books in the reading areas should not be returned to their shelves but left on the designated book tracks (to avoid their being misplaced).
- Students caught defacing, mutilating, or stealing any Library material or property shall be fined and required to replace the same or pay the replacement and processing cost. In appropriate cases, the additional penalty of suspension or expulsion shall be imposed.
- Valuables like wallet, cell phones, calculators, and others must not be left unattended inside the reading area. The staff of the library shall not responsible for the loss of any valuables.
- Wet umbrellas must not be brought inside the Library.
Sanctions and Fines
- No delinquent borrower shall be allowed to use the library and its resources unless he/she has settled all accounts due to the library.
- Library privileges for the students who have been delinquent or found violating library policies on three (3) consecutive occasions in a given semester shall be endorsed by the librarian to the guidance office in order to address further the behavior issue.
- Any person who fails to return any book on General Circulation on its due date or after recall shall pay a fine of Php 5.00 per book per day, exclusive of Sundays and holidays.
- If a library book is lost, the library shall be notified immediately. Overdue fines shall accumulate until lost book is replaced.
- All library patrons, including faculty members shall be responsible for the replacement of the lost items plus the accumulated overdue fines.
- Lost books must be replaced with the same title, edition & author. If the first condition is not possible, a book on the same subject or closely related subject may serve as a replacement provided it is of the same quality as the book that was lost and of the most recent edition.
- In case the lost book is no longer available, a book on the same subject or closely related subject may serve as a replacement provided that it is of the same quality as the book that was lost and of the most recent edition.
- If the patron finds the book after being declared or reported lost and returns it, and if the book is in good condition, the patron shall be required to pay only the accumulated overdue fine.
- The cost of the replacement copy for a damaged/lost book shall not be lower than the original copy. A processing fee shall be charged for each title replaced

Community Borrowers
MCU Community Associates
The following associates of the MCU may use the library resources subject to the rules and regulations governing their use:
- Currently enrolled undergraduate, and graduate.
- Graduate students with on-going master's theses/dissertations.
- Currently employed faculty members, and personnel (permanent, part-timer).
- Administrators and Officials
MCU Non-Community Associates
The following non-members of the University may use the library resources within library premises subject to the rules and regulations governing their use:
- Visiting researchers from other schools/institutions with referral letters from their Librarian or School Official
- Alumni, former faculty members, and students honorable discharge from the University
- Schools with consortium with the Graduate School
Borrowing Privileges
- A maximum of 5 library materials from the Reserve Section and Thesis Section, Reference Section, General Circulation Section, and Periodical Section may be borrowed by a student for room use only.
Photocopy
- A maximum of 3 library materials from the Reserve Section, Reference Section, General Circulation Section, and Periodical Section may be borrowed by a student for photocopy (for a maximum of 30 minutes).
Overnight Use
- A maximum of 3 books from the General Circulation Section may be borrowed for overnight use and these must be returned to the library for the period of three days. Failure to return the borrowed book(s) on the due date shall be fined of Php. 5.00.
Computer Use and Web Services
Internet Access
- The Library believe that the Internet is a useful and powerful information library user resource. Library Internet workstations are provided to the public for research purposes during normal library hours. A person requesting the use of a library computer must agree to abide by the computer and Internet use policy.
Computer and Internet Use Policy
- The computing resources, including hardware, software, and the network environment may be used for lawful purposes only.
- Violation such as any regarding pornography, copyright, theft, vandalism, violation of personal privacy, and unauthorized access to computing resources, may subject one to possible criminal prosecution.
- The use of these resources for commercial activity is prohibited.
- All users agree to refrain from conduct that produces an intimidating, hostile or offensive work or study environment.
Policy
- The section can only be used for course work and related research. No recreational use of computers shall be permitted. These include Gaming, Watching drama, and video call. Anyone violating this shall be subjected to disciplinary action.
- Internet services may not be used for the purpose of transmitting or storing of materials that are, libelous or defamatory. Attempts to obtain unauthorized access to alteration of either local or remote computer systems or networks are strictly prohibited. This means no one is allowed to download any software into the system (Hotmail, Yahoo, and other installations). Anyone violating this shall be subjected to disciplinary action.
- Basic assistance from the Library staff may be provided upon request.
