National Service Training Program

NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM (NSTP) refers to R.A 9163 as a program that aims to serve, educate, and protect the people. In recognition of the vital role of the youth in nation-building, the state shall promote civic consciousness and defense preparedness among them. It shall develop their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being. It shall teach the ideals of patriotism, nationalism, and volunteerism and advance their meaningful involvement in public and civic affairs. (NSTP revised IRR Rule I Section 2. Role of Youth)

MCU NSTP Vision:

The Manila Central University NSTP recognize the vital role of the youth in nation-building and promotes civic consciousness among them to become responsible members of their community.

MCU NSTP Mission:

The Manila Central University NSTP is committed to nurturing students to become valuable citizens of the nation imbued with desirable traits of nationalism and patriotism and advance their involvement in community and national development.

Objectives:

The Manila Central University NSTP aims:

  1. To promote social learning and participation
  2. To provide opportunities to nurture the physical, moral, intellectual, and social well-being of the Filipino students, and
  3. To inculcate nationalism, patriotism, and a sense of public service by involving them actively in literacy and civic welfare programs.

Literacy Training Service (LTS)

LTS refers to the program designed to train the students to become capable non-license instructors of functional literacy and numeracy skills to school children, out-of-school youths, and other segments of society in need of their service. (NSTP revised IRR Rule II Section 3. Definition of Terms)

Community Welfare Training Service (CWTS)

CWTS refers to programs or activities that contribute to the general welfare and betterment of life for the members of the community through the enhancement of its facilities, especially those devoted to improving health, education, environment, entrepreneurship, safety recreation, and morals of the citizenry.
