Manila Central University (MCU) has officially been granted Autonomous Status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), a prestigious recognition awarded to institutions that demonstrate excellence in academic programs, research, and governance. The distinction was conferred during the awarding ceremony for Autonomous and Deregulated Status of Private Higher Education Institutions held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on November 24, 2024.
Representing MCU at the awarding ceremony were Dr. Renato C. Tanchoco Jr., University President, Dr. Ramil V. Flores, and Mr. Ronald R. Mendoza.
This milestone affirms MCU’s commitment to academic leadership, innovation, and quality education. As an autonomous institution, MCU gains greater flexibility in curriculum development, research initiatives, and international collaborations, further enhancing its role in shaping the future of higher education.
