The Manila Central University-College of Physical Therapy (MCU-CPT) celebrated Physical Therapy Week 2023 from September 18-22, 2023, with a focus on the theme “REHAB: Recover and Excel for a Healthy Body.” The week-long celebration also coincided with the 29th founding anniversary of the college on September 16, 2023.
The celebration kicked off with an opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting and blessing of the college’s new facilities. This was followed by a team-building activity for the college’s students, faculty, and staff. On the second day of the celebration, the college held a PT Sports Fest, where students competed in a variety of sports and games. On the third day, the college hosted a seminar on essential PT topics, featuring speakers Mr. Michael P. Gabilo, PTRP, Ms. Lou Umali, and Mr. Anthony Rhodenir M. Santos Jr., PTRP, RPT. On the fourth day of the celebration, the college held a second team-building activity and awarded prizes to the winners of the PT Sports Fest and seminar. The celebration concluded on the fifth day with a free PT clinic for the college’s adopted community geriatric patients, teaching and non-teaching staff, maintenance staff, and MCU athletes.
The celebration of PT Week 2023 was a success, and it provided an opportunity for the MCU-CPT community to come together and celebrate the field of physical therapy. The week’s activities also helped to raise awareness of the importance of physical therapy in promoting recovery and excellence for a healthy body.
