The MCU-College of Optometry held its 2 Days Clinical Pediatric Training on September 3, 2025, at the Helix Auditorium, LRC Building, MCU Campus, Caloocan City. The training aimed to enrich the knowledge and clinical skills of participants while boosting their confidence in the practice of Pediatric Optometry.
The event gathered Optometry students, faculty members, and officers of the Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrists (IPAO) in an engaging and practical learning environment.
The training was led by Dr. Bruce Moore, Professor Emeritus at the New England College of Optometry, and a world-renowned pediatric optometrist recognized for his extensive clinical experience and contributions to children’s vision care and visual development. Dr. Moore has dedicated much of his career to advancing pediatric optometry education and improving access to quality eye care for children. His expertise gave participants valuable insights into advanced diagnostic approaches, clinical case management, and effective patient care techniques.
Through a combination of lectures, clinical demonstrations, and interactive discussions, the training covered essential competencies needed to meet the unique visual health needs of children. Participants left with strengthened knowledge, refined clinical skills, and greater confidence in delivering specialized pediatric eye care.
This initiative underscores MCU’s dedication to advancing Optometry education in the Philippines and producing highly skilled, globally competitive Centralino Optometrists ready to make a difference in their communities.
