MCU-BEdD welcomes Centralinos for the AY 2022-2023

October 4, 2022

The Manila Central University was delighted to welcome Centralinos from the Basic Education Department for their first face-to-face classes for the academic year 2022-2023 after two years of online learning.

MCU-BEdD is committed to being an environmentally friendly institution while providing students with a high-quality education and a fun academic experience.

In line with this, the department held its first face-to-face culminating activity, 'HOLA!' ZumBack to School Kick-Off Parade Party last October 4, 2022, at the Centennial Gym, to welcome students, teachers, and parents to a safe and healthy gradual return to face-to-face classes and to foster positive relationships within the department.

Furthermore, a culminating activity was conducted in celebration of Nutrition Month with the theme 'New normal na nutrisyon, sama-samang gawan ng solusyon!', to strengthen nutrition interventions and build solidarity for nutrition improvement as we move toward the "new normal."

Student welfare and support advisers Mr. Jomel Tabudlong for grades K- 10 and Ms. Michelle Gian Aquino for grades 11-12 organized the events. The celebration began with a parade around the MCU campus, followed by a welcome remark and the induction of the new student council officers and advisers from GS, JHS, and SHS, both led by Ms. Maria Eloisa Reyes, the Principal of BEdD.

It was followed by a Zumba wellness program led by Ms. Joanna Carlo Viado, Zumba Instructor, to celebrate Nutrition Month. During the Zumba session, the judges observed the students. Three people from each grade level received gift certificates for actively participating and showing their dancing abilities. The students also visited their respective classrooms since the program ended earlier.

Dr. Angelo Maduli (VP for Academics) and Ms. Maria Eloisa Reyes (Principal, BEdD) were in attendance.

The event awoke the Centralino spirit. The pandemic has already taken away a lot of time and memories that should have been shared and enjoyed by education stakeholders on campus. With this, teachers, parents, and, most importantly, the students would choose and look forward to returning to school.
