History  

The Manila Central University in the year 1929 expanded by offering the College of Dentistry which was incorporated with the Manila College of Pharmacy and the name Manila College of Pharmacy and Dentistry was retained until the end of the 2nd World War.

The College was fully organized by Dr. Genaro Felizardo with Dr. Jose Francisco as the first Dean and succeeded by Dr. Castro del Rosario. In 1957 to 1980, Dr. Natividad Reyes took over as Acting Dean followed by Dr. Jose Referente and Dr. Feliciano Zeneres in 1963. In 1970, Dr. Ruben C. Navia, a magna cum laude graduate of the College, became the 7th Dean succeeded by Dr. Gaudencio A. Paguia when the former was appointed as Member of the Philippine Board of Dentistry.

In 1993, Dr. Navia was appointed as Consultant for Education and Dr. Elisa G. Puzon, a dental and medical graduate succeeded him. She continued the development of the College by opening Dental Technical Course and Dental Hygiene Course due to high demand abroad.

The College has made landmark contribution by offering a two-year Postgraduate Course in Orthodontics and a one-year Course in Periodontology.

The College has now grown to earn a place of recognition in dental education in the country. Many graduates occupy positions of authority in government, private, military and civic organizations.
