History  

June 2000 marked the beginning of computer education in the university. The Commission on Higher Education granted the first year level of government permit for Bachelor of Science in Computer Science as well as Bachelor of Science in Information Technology programs. Along with, on June 2001 a new program was opened, the Bachelor of Science in Information Management. This was part of the curricular offerings of the College of Business Administration and was supervised by Mr. Jesselu Misa as the department head and Mr. Percy Garcia as the Acting Dean. On the 29th day of July, 2003 the CHED granted the recognition for BSCS and BSIT program as complied with the CHED Memo No. 25 (Recognition Number 27 and 28 for BSCS and BSIT respectively). After the four long years of providing quality education in the field of information technology, the department produced its first batch of graduates.

On June 2004, the Computer Department was separated from the College of Business Administration and was named to Department of Computer Studies. July 1, 2004 when Mr. Misa was again appointed as the head of DCS and Mr. Avonn Nova as the program coordinator.

The college is looking forward in molding experts in computer science, information technology, and information management, equipping its students to become tomorrow’s leaders in industry, academe and government locally and internationally.
